Your day to dayThis challenging position has overall responsibility for managing the day to day activities of the maintenance department and serving as lead on various maintenance projects. In this role you will inspect work assignments to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and within specifications and manage various maintenance and repair projects to ensure timely completion within budget and specifications as you perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating/air conditioning ventilation, and water treatment systems. You will schedule and oversee preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program and f ollow and enforce procedures that ensure the security of inventory while ensuring that equipment is prepared and operational for the following day's work. You may a ssist in education/training employees on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and safety regulations and inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees or hotel assets. You may serve as Manager of Duty as required.
What we need from youThis important postion requires some college or advanced vocational training plus four years experience in general building maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hotel maintenance and supervisory experience preferred. You will need a professional certification and license if required by law and you may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This job requires ability to perform the following: carrying, lifting pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to 100-300 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the facility, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling.
