Diversity and Inclusion

At IHG, everyone is welcome to make our business their home. We invite guests and colleagues alike to join us, connect and enjoy an extraordinary world .

Our business has an open outlook

As part of our Journey to Tomorrow commitments we aim to drive change that cultivates an inclusive environment - one where colleagues can thrive, belong and prioritise their own and others’ wellbeing. With thousands of colleagues in our offices and hotels touching the lives of millions of people everyday, from all backgrounds and beliefs, we have an opportunity to continue to grow as a global business where equity, inclusion and fairness are experienced by all.

We want to open doors, break down barriers and create meaningful difference so you feel proud to belong here. We are committed to increasing the diversity of our leadership and talent, and putting the right decision-making processes around actions so all colleagues feel include, valued and respected.

Above offering a host of opportunities for personal growth we offer mentoring opportunities, DE&I focused events, inclusion training and a host of policies that offer a flexible working environment that keeps your health and wellbeing top of the agenda.

We will work to champion a diverse culture where everyone can thrive and below you’ll find some examples of how we are doing this.

GENDER

IHG Rise

We know that women are still hugely underrepresented at the highest level of hotel management. It’s time to break those barriers and drive inclusivity at the top. We want to create a future where aspiring female General Managers RISE up and succeed in achieving their ambition. This programme aims to inspire confidence in its participants, helping to grow their networks and providing a range of opportunities for personal and professional growth. Almost 130 hotel-based female leaders have so far joined the 12-month programme, with nearly a third of them having since been promoted.
