Lean in empowers women to achieve their ambitions. Members meet in small groups to learn and grow together. They also receive lasting career development opportunities via access to a mentorship programme.
Out and Open
Out & Open is for colleagues identifying as LGBTQ+ (or allies supporting LGBTQ+). The group addresses LGBTQ+-focused matters, organises activities and supports the local LGBTQ+ community.
The Black Employee Resource Group (BERG) brings together professionals who support and empower one another. The group champions the interests and development of black colleagues.
BBX is a group for Baby Boomers & GenXers who want to give back to our global team. By sharing their wealth of experience, they help colleagues develop professionally and access opportunities.
The Disability and Wellbeing Network (DAWN) provides a safe environment for colleagues to share stories of lived experience of disability. It aims to promote awareness of disability, together with a focus on wellbeing, equality and inclusion at IHG.
The Field and Virtual Employees (FAVE) group is a network for remote colleagues which which aims to create a sense of team belonging, engagement and inclusion for its members.
Hospitality Professionals Exchange (Hype) is dedicated to employees currently in the first decade of their careers. It aims to provide guidance and development opportunities to new colleagues.
Pan Asians for True Hospitality (PATH) brings together colleagues of Asian descent and those who are interested in learning more about Asian culture. PATH’s goal is to celebrate and promote the wealth of Pan Asian culture, social norms and values throughout IHG.
Somos Unidos is IHG’s Latino/Hispanic community, created to promote the cultural diversity and professional development of its members.
We know that women are still hugely underrepresented at the highest level of hotel management. It’s time to break those barriers and drive inclusivity at the top. We want to create a future where aspiring female General Managers RISE up and succeed in achieving their ambition. This programme aims to inspire confidence in its participants, helping to grow their networks and providing a range of opportunities for personal and professional growth. Almost 130 hotel-based female leaders have so far joined the 12-month programme, with nearly a third of them having since been promoted.

ASCEND is an advanced nine-month multicultural talent programme that has been rolled out in the Americas, IHG’s largest region. The programme is designed to support and increase ethnic representation in corporate leadership through development, sponsorship and 1:1 mentoring from leaders at SVP or VP level. IHG is keen to roll out this programme out globally to support ethnic talent across IHG and across the industry. Following the tragic deaths of George Floyd and others in the Americas, IHG made several commitments to Listen & Learn, Advocate and Act. The roll-out of the Ascend programme fulfils one of these commitments.
