About us

As the world's largest family of luxury hotels, we all take great pride in being genuine ambassadors of the InterContinental® brand.

Shaped by decades of international know-how and local insights, our passion for luxury travel spans cultures and customs. Inspiring us to create warm and sophisticated experiences for those seeking a richer perspective on the world.

As the first InterContinental Resort to land in Australia, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand, graceful architecture of a classic Queensland estate, nestled within the beautiful surrounds of Sanctuary Cove. As an event professional, it’s a playground of possibilities like you’ve never seen before. A blank canvas and sanctuary of lagoon sands and lush grounds, paving the way for unique event spaces bursting with that inimitable “wow” factor all inspired by the vibrancy of Sanctuary Cove.

At InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort we are looking for Painter to join our team.

Your day to day

Keeping our Resort running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience – as the Painter you’ll keep everything looking sharp. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support our own, you’ll approach every task with dedication and pride.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will focus primarily on maintaining the presentation of paintwork throughout the Resort in accordance with company standards and be able to demonstrate awareness and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures. From time to time there may also be a requirement of assisting with other repair work and participate in the Resort’s preventative maintenance programs.

This role would suit an efficient self-starter who is able to work with limited supervision and has a general trade background. The Resort offers a fast paced environment and for the successful candidate will provide an excellent training ground for you to develop your competence in various types of engineering and general maintenance.

What we need from you

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who can communicate effectively with all team members, stakeholders and guests who has an excellent eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks within conflicting deadlines.

We are looking for a qualified painter who has at least 2 to 3 years experience in the trade.  Experience in general maintenance and/or repair experience with a good all round knowledge of maintenance procedures would be a bonus.

You will be a proactive individual who can communicate effectively with all team members, stakeholders, and guests and has an excellent eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you must hold a full Australian drivers licence and the appropriate work rights to work within Australia.

What we offer

Join our extraordinary world and experience a place where you can be yourself, share your ideas, support your personal growth and wellbeing, and be a valued member of an inspirational team.

You’ll be rewarded for your hard work with a suite of benefits that supports you and your family’s wellbeing, including :

  • Paid birthday leave
  • Hotel perks like accommodation and food & beverage discounts
