Bottom line? We’re looking for a new Manager of Finance and Accounting comfortable with balancing the books when it comes to managing the needs of owners, auditors and regulatory agencies while also monitoring and improving hotel profitability. In return, we’ll put our financial operations and the security of our hotel assets in your expert hands. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up the processes, procedures and systems in the Pre Opening period, ensuring we are compliant with 

A taste of your day to day

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Cash Management: Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to the hotel management and ownership groups. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports. Manage cash flow, including the handling of funds, daily banking transactions, and monitoring of cash reserves.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts for the hotel. Monitor and report on variances, making necessary adjustments to achieve financial goals.

Accounting and Bookkeeping: Oversee the daily accounting and bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.

Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost reduction, and areas for revenue growth. Provide recommendations to improve financial performance.

Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including industry-specific regulations for the hospitality sector.

Team Management: Coaching and managing the finance and purchasing team, providing leadership, training, and support. Working with the leadership team to enhance their financial acumen and understanding of the business

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is often preferred).
  • Previous experience in financial management within the hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., hotel property management systems and accounting software).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
