InterContinental "Coffee Man" clocks up 54 years of service!

Nassib Talih from the InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut was recognised during IHG's Celebrate Service Week for his loyalty and contribution to our business. Nassib has clocked up 54 years of service, making him our longest serving colleague across Asia, our Middle Eastern Region and Africa.

“I feel touched, humbled and honoured,” said Nassib Talih. “I have devoted my entire life to serving the Phoenicia hotel’s family and customers. Today, I don’t consider myself a winner of 50,000 IHG Reward Club points but rewarded on a much deeper and personal level. There is nothing in the world that could ever beat the overwhelming privilege and happiness I felt today when my name was called out.”

Nassib was part of the InterContinental Phoenicia opening team and has been at the hotel since its first day of operation. Over the last five decades InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut has been a landmark in Lebanon’s history and Nassib has witnessed it all.

“Through the good and bad that Lebanon has endured, the ups and downs, the struggles and skirmishes the hotel has risen as a Phoenix every time and opened its doors again and again to travellers as well as many loyal and faithful local citizens,” explained Nassib. “My experience, during the last 54 years, has been unforgettable and memorable.”

Nassib’s loyalty has been rewarded. He hasn’t decided how he will use his 50,000 IHG Reward Club points yet, whether on a stay or a gift from the catalogue, but will cherish this day for the rest of his life.
